Many images on this site were scanned on an HP Scanjet 3200C.
I scanned objects with the scanner lid open (usually at night) to get black backgrounds.

All of this started out as a fun experiment. Then it became a mild obsession.

I've even scanned myself.

At times I get a little carried away with special effects, like with these dandelions I picked in my back yard.

But most of the time I make relatively minor adjustments to blacken backgrounds and accentuate natural colors.

My favorite image is probably my cat, Poe.
I enticed her to the scanner by putting a few pieces of Cat Chow on the surface. Much to my surprise,
she hopped right up, started eating, and kept her body still enough to get this:

No creatures were harmed for this site....not even the spider.

After I scanned her, I released her into the woods. People tell me that was stupid.
Guilty as charged.

I found these in an abandoned nest in my back yard. I think they're wren eggs.

I'm fairly certain this is a robin's egg.

Thank you for visiting.
